Having spent some time in France, I am absolutely sick and tired of the hypocritical, Puritanical, despicably American perception of female sexuality. We preach abstinence in our classrooms while our former President is on public trial for paying off porn stars. We ban drag shows in the name of ‘protecting Christian values’ while our priests are outed one by one as child molesters.’ Imagine the outrage if some city planner were to put one of Michaelangelo’s famous nude sculptures up in downtown Philly. There would be riots in the streets. The statue would be covered in tarp and surrounded by protestors screaming for the innocence of their young adolescent childrens who are sitting at home, scrolling through porn on their iPads. It’s time to stop groping around with our hands over our eyes, squawking that female sexuality is ‘lewd’ and ‘lascivious.’ Let’s be honest, we have bigger problems on our hands, so grow some balls already.
