I don’t know what’s causing this to happen. Maybe it’s something subconscious that people do when it’s colder. Maybe the world is out to get me. Either way, I just ask one thing of everyone that has ever been in my vicinity: do not walk too close to me. Don’t know if you’re too close? That’s totally fine, let me help you. You’re too close if I can hear you breathing. You’re too close if I can feel your body heat. You’re too close if you accidentally brush against me. You’re too close if I can identify the song leaking through your airpods. You’re too close if someone isn’t able to walk between us without touching either one of us. It’s quite easy if you’re paying attention to it, which I always am. Just look down at our shadows and make sure they’re still social distancing.
