The term “cut flower culture” is a metaphor used to describe a society that has severed its roots from its moral and spiritual values I rarely buy flowers because it makes me too sad when they die. And when I go to buy them I can’t justify it because I know in a few days they will be in my waste bin, before anyone has even gotten to see them. I hate investing time into
something that I know is going to disappoint me. But then I hate being cynical and hate not having pretty flowers. Because I don’t hate flowers. I love the way they smell and the way they  sometimes match my pink room and the way they remind me of the spring. But then they wilt and their petals shrivel and fall out the vase and remind me pretty things can end and what was once flourishing can die. Maybe this isn’t about flowers…
