Mirror, mirror on the Wall…

“It is in the knowledge of the genuine conditions of our lives that we must draw our strength to live and our reasons for living.” — Simone de Beauvoir It’s difficult to be committed in a relationship when you’re with the other person 24/7. You each have your own unique (most times, strange) quirks, you more easily get on each other’s nerves, and it’s ridiculous to believe that you can be completely independent when all of your time is spent together outside of work. (Worse if you’re working in the same office. Can confirm this was a bad idea.) Hence why I propose the best course of action when it comes to breaking out of your own coupled shell: date yourself. Take yourself out to a place you want to go that your partner wouldn’t be interested in; get into a new hobby that adds a more balanced schedule; stare into your own eyes in the mirror. Dating yourself is one of the best ways to separate yourself from being codependent in your dating relationships!
